STAPLE IN OFFSHORE ANGLING LAUNCHES
ITS BIGGEST VESSEL YET .
WEST COAST BOATERS KNOW THE NAME SKIPJACK is synonymous with tough offshore
fishing. Up until now, though, most of the company's offerings were in the
26-to-32-foot range. Not anymore.
The newest addition to Skipjack's fleet is the 380 Flying Bridge, which is ready
and able to head directly out to sea for your toughest competitions. She is
equipped with 500 gallons of fuel, making her a prime candidate for long-range
runs and multi-day tournaments. She's lightweight too -competitive with others
in her size range - which leads to nimble performance and efficiency.
But we know what you're really looking for in a sportfisher, and that's
fishability. The cockpit measures 120 square feet, which can be customized to
some extent in order to meet your particular needs. Standard features include a
60-gal-Ion bait tank, a 13-cubic-foot ice-or fishbox, large, built-in fiberglass
lockers and coaming pads to protect your knees when you have a big catch at the
other end of the line.
The flybridge, accessible from a stainless steel ladder, has perfect visibility;
all you need is an experienced skipper to ensure proper maneuverability when the
fishing gets hot. A wrap-around helm station provides a ton of space for your
electronic needs, and two adjustable helm seats keep things from getting lonely
up there. There is also an easily accessed forward lounge console; with 7 feet
of insulated space, it's ideal for rod storage.
Skipjack knows that not every-one is on board for the angling, so interior
styling was designed with both functionality and comfort in mind. The 380 Flying
Bridge does not come with an interior steering station, which gives the salon an
open and airy feeling starting with the double door that leads from the cockpit.
The 9-foot portside galley is generous compared to other boats in this size
range, which often have a postage-stamp-size countertop to work with, set a
couple of steps down from the salon. Not the case here, where the living space
is all on the same deck. There is a sink set in the
Corian counter, a three-burner stove and a side-by-side refrigerator and
freezer; a large settee with a table in front of it for casual meals is located
to starboard.
The brightly lit master stateroom is located forward and features a queen-size
berth and two cedar-lined hanging lockers; the guest stateroom has upper and
lower twin berths. Dual doors lead
to the head from the companionway. or the master; there is an electric toilet
and a separate shower stall.
Finally, choose your own ad-venture with the wide variety of twin engine
installations that are available. ..
